Get project

You can create your project on the following link. Currently, three categories of projects are available:

Test projects

Test projects are used mostly for compilation and initial testing of user jobs. Test projects can be requested by scientists and researchers from Slovak public universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences, as well as from organizations of public and state administration and private companies registered in the Slovak Republic.

Allocation

Maximum project duration: 4 months
Available allocation for the project: 50,000 CPU core-hours and 12,500 GPU core-hours

The aim of the call is to provide eligible applicants with access to HPC within a timeframe and allocation that will allow them to effectively test software applications and procedures for solving more extensive projects. It is assumed that after testing, the user will submit a so-called standard project, for which specific allocation can be requested for one year. The testing approach can, of course, also be used for smaller-scale projects.

Standard projects

Standard access to HPC can be requested by scientists and researchers from Slovak public universities and the Slovak Academy of Sciences, as well as from organizations of public and state administration and private companies registered in the Slovak Republic. Access is provided exclusively for civil and non-commercial open-science research and development.

Allocation

Maximum project duration: 1 year
Time between two consecutive calls: 4 months
Available allocation for the call: 26 M CPU core-hours and 1.5 GPU core-hours (92,000 GPU hours) distributed among all accepted project in the given call

The aim of the call is to provide eligible applicants with access to HPC in such a scope that enables the complete realization of high-quality research and innovative projects. The project should be comprehensively defined in the application, including motivation and specific objectives. The applicant should describe the project implementation plan, i.e., how they plan to utilize machine time to achieve the defined goals.

The open-science concept assumes that project outputs will be published in peer-reviewed journals or published in another form. The lead investigator is required to prepare final project report and submit it within two calendar months of project completion. The project can be extended if necessary, upon recieving sufficiently justified request from the lead investigator. Final reports will be published on the coordinator's website, in printed materials, or as part of another form of presentation of their activities.

Commercial use

Commercial research and development/production calculations cannot be carried out within this call.

In the case of even utilization of the provided computing time, the call coordinator guarantees users the exhaustion of the allocated allocation during the project duration. In the case of uneven utilization of computing time, the call coordinator does not guarantee users the possibility of exhausting the allocated allocation, with any unutilized allocation expiring at the end of the project duration without the right to additional utilization.

Commercial projects

Commercial project are used mostly by users from private companies and are charged based on an agreement with the NSCC.

After successful approval of the project, you should obtain information about project activation and you are able to run jobs and compile software. You can now add or remove the project co-investigators.
